This portal is popular because of its authors, but the special feature of zonakz, which differentiate it from other websites, is comments of readers, who sometimes write even more interesting and bright then professional journalists. The chief editor and owner of zonakz is Yuriy Mizinov.

To look at this portal with eyes of ordinary public I can say that interface is not so beautiful. There are no any pictures except some advertising. But it is not so important, the main interest and importance of this website are articles which make people interact with each other. Also zonakz has its own blog space. Webblogs here divided into four groups: journalists’ blogs, group blogs, blogs of politicians and of course blogs of ordinary people. There is a forum when readers can communicate with each other.

All articles are divided into some rubrics, which are important in order to find useful topic or entry.

I guess that this portal is useful for those who really interested in Kazakhstan politics. And for my understanding of the concept of participatory journalism zonakz is the best example.

It is very beneficial for me to be a member of one community which name is “Media school”. It locates in Almaty and exists for improvement and stabilization of professionalism of young journalists. Journalists who are working now in real mass media share with youngsters their experience.

Rules: to be a member of Media School person should be interested in journalism and can be either a student of journalism department or any other. Enthusiasm, hardworking, talent and communicative abilities are very important for students of Media school.

Classes’ structure is trainings. We have a lot of practical tasks. After graduating, within five months, we will be able to work in any mass media in Almaty. For me it’s a very big chance in realization, practice and improvement my journalist’s skills. And I hope to find a really cool job after graduating.

Except interest in improvement of my professional skills I need to have a possibility to realize other talents. In this case being a member of dance club is very important and helpful. I go into belly dance for about two years. We have classes three times a week.

Rules: to be a member of this dance club person should be interested in dancing. It does not need to have special skills and perfect body, but with help of belly dancing person can get it.

Dancing is very funny and not a hard activity because we enjoy rhythmic music and always we learn new compositions which are more and more interesting. Also it is very health and we learn how to control our body movements in a beautiful manner. Sometimes our dance club participates in dancing competitions and shows. I really enjoy dancing.

Usually ordinary people rely on journalism, because they are naive. But sometimes journalists are not accurate, sometimes they do not have checked information. And people believe them, this is the main problem of journalism, because people believe in yellow press. It’s terrible.

Ordinary person cannot start his or her life without begining capital.
